How to Add Value to Your Subscribers
Â
People like to join membership sites. But they want value once they sign up. Here are top things members look for once inside.
Â
Good Navigation and Links – Don’t just have a hodge-podge of “stuff†uploaded for members. They seek order and steps on what is there plus how to use it. Make sure all links, downloads, etc. work, too.
Â
Products – Offer what you say you will. Don’t give junk. And make sure everything works. No untested software or software with glitches. Subscribers paid for access, not to be your guinea pigs.
Â
Timeliness – Update your member site when you say you will. In other words, if people are supposed to received monthly ebooks and corresponding websites with autoresponder series and graphics, make sure these are completed and uploaded on time - -each and every month.
Â
Bonuses – Offer good bonuses, not the same stuff that’s already saturating the Internet everywhere. And sprinkle new bonuses in regularly to show your appreciation for continued support of the membership site.
Â
Customer Support – Offer some! Give out an email address, phone number and mailing address, for goodness sakes. Don’t hide behind a Support Desk. If you don’t want to handle phone calls, have voicemail, but do reply by email (ask people to leave their email address on your voicemail).  And do reply to support tickets in a prompt manner. â€Do unto others…†and offer what you would like.
Â
Weekly Ezine – Offer a free weekly ezine to subscribers to show how to get the most out of their membership. Include case studies of other members, how they benefited from their membership, awards for the best article, tip, photo, etc. submitted form members that week or month, industry quotes and news and how they affect membership items.
Â
In short, members want to make big use of their paid membership sites. So offer excellent products, support services and means to use their products to gain the most benefit from them.
Â
Setup a nice affiliate plan so members can invite their friends to join up, while earning a little bonus form it – and keeping you in subscribers, too. And invite contributions form all members so that you’ll have plenty of case studies, news, and content to share throughout the month with fellow members and the outside world in your marketing communications and promotional materials.

Thanks for the good advice. Do you have any tips on how to set up the affiliate system regarding payments etc ie the admin side?
Cheers

Hi Janet,
I use a system that handles it all, it’s called Butterfly Marketing. Yes, it is expensive but well worth the investment. Notice I said investment but you have to think about it in that light. With BFM you can accept payments via Paypal, Clickbank, 2Checkout and a few others. If I were to pick one because I could not afford this script at the moment it would be Clickbank. You can accept credit cards through them as well as paypal and also recruit affiliates already in the Clickbank marketplace.
Take care,
Shane

I was looking through your back articles and found this one. Very helpful information for me as I just started an automatic newsletter a few weeks ago with aweber.com - dslilbitsnmore@aweber.com
I have bookmarked your blog link so I can refer back to it to help me in getting my aweber going.
thanks again,
Debbie
